Gardens to Edible Food Forests- Patch by patch

Heres some great work my younger sisters doing, converting a back garden into an exciting and highly productive food forest; Beauty and abundance!
Liz has designed a mid succession patch mimicking a forest edge, with a lovely mulberry and three dwarfing apples as the climax species.  These are supported by leguminous ground covers, insect attractors and even leguminous flowers!  With an abundance of mixed cane fruits Liz will be collecting an abundance of delicious healthy fruits, shoots and salads whilst Her trees are reaching maturity.

By mimicking forest ecology we can crop on seven distinct levels, repairing the earth as we go!

All this and She has designed a very low maintenance mulching system; stops the weeds, adds to soil fertility, structure and helps monitor the soil fungal balance whilst looking very attractive and providing balanced habitat for a dynamic mix of species- Way to go!

Yurt Making

Turning ash coppice and cotton into sustainable homes!  Yurts have remained unchanged in design for the last couple of thousand years!  Theres a good reason, they were designed very well!  The stronger the wind blows, the stronger they become, as the frame is compressed and becomes more rigid.  These beautiful structures are incredibly welcoming spaces- amazing to live in a room with no edges...
